Massage Oils

Based upon the principles of aromatherapy these tested massage oils provide a healing medium for deep muscle and relaxation massage. The essential oils used in these blends are are pure and natural certified organic, wild-crafted or unsprayed. There are no synthetics. Iris Herbal offers you a choice of 4 different base or carrier oils. Certified organic Sweet Almond oil, high in linoleic acid, slows the loss of water from the outer layer of the skin. It spreads easily, has a great slip and glide, and is not absorbed as much as other oils, thus forming a protective layer on the skin. Expeller pressed and unrefined, it is an emollient reconditioning oil good for all skin types. Old growth, unsprayed, extra virgin Apricot Kernel oil, high in linoleic acid, vitamin A, minerals and vitamin B-17, is very light and easily absorbed by the skin. Cold pressed and unrefined, it is good for all skin types, especially dry, mature and irritated skin. Certified organic Sunflower Seed oil, high in olic acid, Vitamins A, D and E as well as lecithin and unsaturated fatty acids, is easliy absorbed by the skin. Expeller pressed and partially refined, it is especially nourishing and conditioning for dry skin. Certified organic Evening Primrose Seed oil, high in omega 3 fatty acids, is a rejuvenating and regenerating oil that is easily absorbed and seems to penetrate into deeper layers of the skin. Cold pressed and partially refined, it is a bit viscous and excellent for mature, weathered, damaged and scarred skin. Note: this oil must be refridgerated. Massage oils are individually handmixed and packaged in amber bottles to preserve their quality. If kept reasonably dark and cool, these blends will stay fresh for up to a year. Arnica Plus Massage Oil Cost: $17.50 Size: 4 oz. Use: The quintessential combination for bruises, strains, sprains, pulled muscles and tendons, as well as nerve damage due to trauma. Do not use on broken skin. Ingredients: 50% certified organic Almond oil or certified organic Sweet Apricot Kernal oil and 50% mix of fresh certified organic and/or wildcrafted Arnica cordifolia and Hypericum perforatum flowering tops infused in certified organic extra virgin olive and canola oils. Added to this are the pure and natural essential oils of Lavender, Geranium, Fennel, Creeping Hyssop, and Wild Marjoram.

Plain Evening Primrose Seed Oil (EPO - cold-pressed, certified organic) Cost: $25.50 Size: 8 oz. Very rich in essential fatty acids, this cold-pressed (low heat) certified organic Evening Primrose Seed Oil (EPO) is fabulous for dry, weathered skin. I personally use it to combat the harsh,drying effects of New Mexico's high desert winter. All my massage therapist friends love using it as well since it is conducive for a wide range of massage strokes. This organic EPO is completely safe for all ages and skin types, and can even be used as a salad oil. It is the same oil that's found in those expensive gel caps at the natural food store, and many customers prefer to use it daily on their salads (not for cooking) instead of taking lots of pills.
